Job Summary:
The Accountant II will be part of the corporate Accounting & Finance department and will be responsible for maintaining the books for several entities in accordance with GAAP, completing all relevant month-end closing procedures, providing back-office monthly accounting support for several independent advisor groups of the company.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA – Hybrid Work Plan
Responsiblities:
Assist with creating processes and procedures for a new entity, involving collaboration with both internal and external parties
Provide financial support, AR, AP, Invoice payment, distribution processing, etc. for several independent advisor groups
Complete monthly financial closing process ensuring accurate results and in accordance with company and department timelines
Prepare journal entries, reconcile account balances, and research discrepancies
Analyze expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and deferred revenue accounts
Assist with year-end audit, including providing supporting schedules and sample documentation
Complete intercompany reconciliations
Assist with Accounts Payable when needed
Maintain fixed asset ledger, where applicable
Assist with bank transaction processing and posting
Maintain, update, and follow standard operating procedures within the accounting & finance department in addition to following corporate policies and procedures
Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services
Month-end closing experience
Financial statement analysis
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and QuickBooks area plus
Experience with Financial Services Industry a plus
Strong interpersonal skills
