The senior management team at NewEdge Advisors is looking for a highly skilled Advisor Technology Trainer to help support and manage the technology applications for advisors. As a rapidly growing company, the ideal candidate is comfortable and excels in an atmosphere of constant growth, change, and ideation. This position will report to the Manager of Advisor Solutions at NewEdge Advisors.

 

Job Summary

In the Advisor Technology Training Specialist role, the applicant would be in a financial advisor-facing position that is broadly responsible for being an expert in Financial Advisor FinTech. The role encompasses various responsibilities, with the primary duties centering around being an advisor ambassador for Orion and helping recruits customize and integrate their tech stack. We seek someone with vast experience in the RIA-and hybrid-RIA space and deep knowledge of the top technology tools for Advisors. Additionally, this role will require strong communication and training skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and someone who is highly organized.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Orion Ambassador

Advanced level of expertise using the Orion platform and training rep-level users
Familiarity operating in Orion with multiple standalone rep-level teams in one parent database
Deep understanding of the core Orion Connect applications, including: Reporting, Portfolio Audit, Portfolio View, Householding, Orion Client Portal, Client Experience, Orion Planning, Eclipse, Support, Queries, Integration, and more
Internal POC for complex Orion projects

Tech Stack Onboarding & Implementation

Guide new teams who are transitioning to our RIA through a personalized consulting and implementation process that includes:

Initial discovery
Creating a custom tech onboarding blueprint for each new team
Guiding new teams through their blueprint in phases
Managing all advisor Orion training including Eclipse, Advizr, and the Client Portal
Full integration support for CRM, Financial Planning, Risk/Analysis, and more

FinTech Consultant

Work to become proficient in all tech stack offerings across our different affiliation models
Identify trends and advisor pain points
Research and identify new FinTech that could be valuable for our advisors and/or internal firm
Due diligence on new FinTech for Compliance – sourced from advisors or internally

Advisor Support & Training

The main POC for advisor tech questions related to Orion and other supported tech service needs including integration of tools
One-off consulting on non-Orion related advisor tech questions
Create content such as training videos and slick sheets
Create Help Center articles to aid in onboarding and training
Arrange or lead demos with prospects and advisors

 

 

Minimal Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
3+ years working in the RIA or Hybrid-RIA industry
3+ years of advanced Orion experience

 

Additional Desired Skills

Familiarity with a hybrid-RIA setup that is multi-custodian (i.e., LPL, Fidelity, Schwab, Raymond James)
Familiarity with a tuck-in or aggregator RIA model
Student of RIA FinTech and understanding of how financial advisors manage an independent practice
Proficient in HiddenLevers, Riskalyze, Orion Planning, eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, MyRepChat, Redtail, WealthBox, and more (expertise not initially required for all tools)
Experience training advisors and helping with technology integration
Exemplary customer service skills with a solution-based approach
Highly organized to handle multiple transitions at once – upwards of 25 advisor teams a year
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Great communicator, excellent writing skill
Team player who can work well with multiple divisions involved in a project
High touch follow-up
Ability to use a project management system
