Job Summary:

This position specializes in the generation of Benefit Calculations for Defined Benefit Plans. Primary responsibilities are to track and generate DB Benefit Calculations in preparation for the calculation review process.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Work closely with one of our Enrolled Actuaries in learning how to prepare Benefit Calculations for both Qualified and Non-Qualified Defined Benefit Plans.
Maintain client databases and benefit calculation log.
Prepare certified retirement benefit calculation for retirees, spouse of deceased employees and other vested benefit calculations.
Assist with the monthly payments to retirees.
Assist with the preparation of DOL Forms 5500, PBGC Forms, Annual Funding Notices and AFTAP Certifications.
Assist in preparing plan studies, etc.
Multi-task with little supervision.
Other miscellaneous duties normally associated with defined benefit plans.
Reviewing employee data to ensure accurate information.
Reviewing employee census to determine plan eligibility requirements and benefit accruals.
Communicating and following up on specific client requests.
Maintain a cordial and effective relationship with internal clients, external clients and team members.
Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word skills.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
Experience in computing DB Benefit Calculations a plus.
Organization and communication skills are a must.
Flexibility to work extended hours, during peak activity months.
Experience in a Customer-facing environment a plus.

Education and Experience:

College mathematics/accounting/business degree or relevant work experience.
