Job Summary:

The Director, Project Management Office (PMO), reporting to Chief Information Officer, will lead a team within EdgeCo’s Technology department, and will develop and maintain the process, standards, methodologies, and tools to achieve quality, consistency, and oversight of EdgeCo projects and Quality Assurance. Establishing the organization’s approach to the project life cycle and ensuring alignment to strategic objectives. Oversee project planning, initiation, execution, and monitoring. Reporting on project and performance targets, resource allocation, and KPIs. Keeping abreast of industry standards and tools for project management and ensure adherence to best practices. Develop and influence solutions for change management, growth strategies and operations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director, PMO is responsible for supervising Project Managers, Portfolio Managers, and the Quality Assurance Team. Other future possible functions consistent with the departmental responsibilities.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

Establish the PMO operating model, the corporate Project Life Cycle methodology, PMO organization structure, set standards of team capabilities, and success measures.
Manage the Portfolio Management process to ensure a systematic process is in place to approve and prioritize projects, and evaluate the impact of cross portfolio initiatives.
Manage the Quality Assurance team, ensuring effective and efficient QA processes, standards, and automated testing are implemented and executed, in order to reduce defects and increase throughput.
Establish and report on metrics for projects, quality assurance, resource allocation, and project effort and timeline estimation.
Create PMO department budget and oversee and monitor project budgets and risks.
Partner with Finance to provide project budget and financial reports and project capital expense reporting.
Lead overall EIT time tracking effort, including time and resource reporting, resource allocation, and project estimation and reporting.
Create presentations for reporting metrics and initiatives and present to the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership.
Collaborate with other department leaders to define, prioritize and develop projects.
Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various projects/deliverables.
Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the Company’s standards, goals, and values.
Training, leading, and coaching team members.
Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
Accurately documenting the project’s creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project’s scope, budget, and justification.

 

Skills & Abilities:

BS/BA degree in Business, Finance, Management or related field
PMP certification strongly preferred, but not required
5+ years experience as a Project, Program, or Product Manager
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to foster an atmosphere of proactive stakeholder engagement
Effective at mitigating issues, resolving conflict, and managing agreement
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently while preserving accuracy and attention to detail
Energetic self-starter, with the ability to work independently
