Job Summary

As a Fixed Income Trader, you will work closely with the entire Trading team to access external liquidity in fixed income markets in order to execute trades for our PMs overseeing both internal and external strategies, and New Edge advisors. Sources of liquidity might include other dealers, electronic trading networks and other primary or secondary markets available to New Edge. In the spirit of continuing to expand our offering, you would also be responsible for analyzing and proposing new relationship possibilities to the trading team for consideration. You will be expected to utilize your knowledge and experience to evaluate current market offerings and reflect back these opportunities to PMs, advisors, and/or other Traders. You will assist trading operations with matters associated with our trading activity. This might include trade processing, trade breaks and settlement, trade corrections, and any other related workflows. This role will report directly to the Manager oof Trading Operations.

Responsibilities

Execute fixed income orders received from portfolio managers, advisers, and other financial institutions on both the buy and the sell side. This will entail utilizing existing and establishing new relationships with various liquidity providers and ensuring consistency with the firm’s strict demand for best-in-class execution services
Establish and maintain a robust network of execution partners across the Street to provide our desk with superior market depth and execution
Monitor retail client orders trading on our various order platforms
Facilitate settlement of related Streetside trades
Assist advisors with constructing bond ladders and other functions on our platforms
Assist sales traders as needed
Assist clients with trade related inquiries
Monitor all fixed income trades to ensure that all are booked according to FINRA requirements

Skills & Qualifications

Experience trading fixed income securities is preferred
SIE, Series 7 and Series 63/66 required
Must have general knowledge of financial markets
Thorough understanding of fixed income markets
Ability to work fastidiously in demanding, fast-paced environment
Possess a strong, uncommon willingness to independently achieve while working in an autonomous environment
Outstanding ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
In-depth understanding of Microsoft Excel
In depth understanding of Bloomberg terminal
Ability to quickly and proficiently adapt to new technology
