Job Summary:
The Investment Research Analyst will support the American Trust Retirement and Wealth Management businesses through investment research, reporting and written commentary. The candidate will be a contributor to the trading process and be a key resource regarding the adaptation and implementation of portfolio management. The ideal candidate should have prior investment experience conducting quantitative and/or qualitative investment due diligence. The candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills as well as the ability to collaborate with teammates to solve problems effectively.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Evaluate and make recommendations for investment options within assigned asset class and/or sectors.
Contribute to the Team’s Capital Market Forecasts, Asset Allocation and other investment team activities.
Trading duties include the analysis of cash reports, account rebalancing, execution of purchases and sales of individual equities and bonds and mutual funds through trust accounting system using portfolio management overlay software.
Interview representatives from investment firms to identify opportunities and risks.
Perform returns-based (performance) and holdings-based (attribution) quantitative analysis.
Prepare and distribute investment reports that support the business and clients.
Attend meetings with senior staff and present research, findings, and analysis as needed.
Demonstrate the ability to identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions.
Adapt to changes in the market, industry or company policies and business conditions.
