Job Summary:
The M&A Associate position with NewEdge Capital Group is a role that will have direct exposure to the company’s senior management. The M&A Associate will join the acquisition team and spend the majority of the time on corporate development initiatives with some additional work on FP&A projects as needed.
Location: This position is a hybrid role working 3+ days per week in our New York City office.
Responsibilities:
- Support, track, and help manage the growing M&A pipeline across the firm
- Support the coordination and execution of due diligence of potential targets including working closely with senior team members, other internal points of contact and external representatives, such as target company management, advisors, legal counsel, etc. to ensure relevant deal information flow amongst the cross-functional M&A team
- Quantify and track historical transaction KPIs such as synergies and any contractual purchase price adjustments including working capital and contingent payments
- Build detailed M&A analyses to support the evaluation of opportunities, including standalone target valuation, synergy value, deal structuring alternatives, IRR, and proforma impacts to EdgeCo
- Own and maintain the financial model and associated analysis for assigned transactions from initial screen through close
- Assist in the development of presentations and investment materials for the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and Lending Group
- Support the senior management team and department heads with as required data-driven analysis
- Support the deal team in executing all aspects of the M&A process
- Other ad hoc projects as needed
Skills/Abilities:
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, FP&A, and/or corporate finance
- Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance
- Confident self-starter, with the competence and experience to work directly with executives and senior management
- Finance background with experience analyzing financial statements
- Advanced skills in Excel including creation of complex financial models used to evaluate acquisitions (valuation, present value, corporate impact)
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and decision-making ability
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; ability to work in a conscientious, consistent, and thorough manner
- Ability to effectively operate with high energy and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment
- High level of interpersonal skills & ability to collaborate across departments
- Commitment to data integrity and continuous improvement of data quality and QC processes
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with clear delivery in presentations
- Familiarity with wealth management or RIA M&A and its key value drivers a plus
- Experience with live transactions from LOI through close
Salary: $100,000 – $125,000 base salary, based on experience, plus eligibility to participate in company’s bonus program.
