Job Summary:

The Operations Specialist will have a variety of assigned tasks and will provide support for multiple departments across American Trust. The primary support will be for the Wealth Management department by keying accurate and timely data for client reporting by the Fiduciary Investment Advisors.

Location: The position would preferably be located in our Lexington, KY office, however, remote candidates may also be considered. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

The transfer and reconciliation of Mutual Funds, Equities, Fixed Income, and other security types between our custodians and the Trust Accounting System as well as processing corporate actions.
The transfer and reconciliation of Money Movement for daily wires, checks, and electronic payments between our bank, custodians, and Trust Accounting System and processing daily cash sweep in Money Market funds.
Generation and printing of checks going to clients or entities on their behalf.
Daily posting and settlement of various trading, deposits, and fee deductions
Various daily, monthly, and annual reconciliations of internal accounts
The set-up and maintenance of new accounts and securities on our Trust Accounting and Portfolio Management Systems
Monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting to each state and the IRS as well as providing annual forms to clients including 1099’s, 1042, K-1, 5498, and Tax Worksheets from the Trust Accounting System.
Quarterly Regulatory reporting to the SEC
Monthly generation of client statements for mailing or uploading to our client portal
Other operational duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, highly preferred. Being familiar with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat a plus.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks within established timeframe.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently.
Two or more years of work experience in a related field a plus.
Associate degree in Finance or other business-related field or Trust Operations Certification (CTOP) preferred.
