Job Summary:

This position specializes in the compliance of ERISA qualified retirement plans. Primary responsibilities are to assist with plan administration and quality control.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Ability to perform or quality review nondiscrimination testing, Form 5500 and other compliance related tasks completed by Administration team members.
Participate in staff development of Administration team by providing ERISA technical guidance and quality review feedback.
Maintain an expert level knowledge of qualified plan regulations and administration.
Update compliance materials for law changes.
Perform QDRO reviews for accuracy and completeness and determine the award to alternate payee.
Identify and recognize any compliance issues that arise from a plan’s testing and reporting process and recommend corrective action related to such issues.
Review death distributions to determine beneficiary and payout period. Prepare customized letters if necessary.
Effectively execute resolution to escalated technical issues from internal staff and clients.
Identify and utilize internal and external resources for compliance resolution.
Provide plan design support for existing and on boarding clients.
Participate in compliance related projects and other duties as assigned.
Possess a strong understanding of department processes, procedures and standards

Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations

Education and Experience:

College degree or relevant work experience.
Ten or more years of Retirement or Pension experience preferred.
Industry related designation(s) preferred.
