Job Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for helping to develop the product roadmap by managing assigned prioritized projects throughout the full product lifecycle and generating new ideas to ensure ongoing product competitiveness. This includes ensuring new and enhanced solutions align with the overall product vision. Assigned priorities will be managed by gathering feedback and conducting market analysis to validate key requirements, and collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to develop, deliver, and refine key product capabilities to ensure revenue, customer satisfaction goals are met and to support the company’s overall product strategy and goals.
This specific role focuses on the Mid Atlantic ModelxChange platform and related collective investment trust offerings. ModelxChange is a proprietary system used by asset managers to construct and manage model portfolios. The CIT offering is supported via the ModelxChange framework in collaboration with our sister company, American Trust. The Product Manager will be expected to become the in-house expert on the product platform, working with the relationship management and technology team to ensure it remains a best in breed offering. Since ModelxChange is a proprietary platform developed and maintained by in-house development teams, the Product Manager will be expected to spend a considerable amount of time guiding business analysts and developers on projects. Participation in roadmap prioritization and regular scrum meetings will be required to ensure projects and deliverables are properly prioritized.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Participate and lead discussions in team meetings to help define the product strategy and roadmap.
Manage assigned components of the existing product platform throughout the full product lifecycle including discovery and planning, development, qualification, marketing, and monitoring of product performance.
Develop business cases for new or enhanced product capabilities, including competitive analysis and supporting economic rationale.
Be an expert across all key components of the product platform capabilities and knowledgeable about our industry and key competitors.
Help develop the core positioning and messaging for the product.
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and business stakeholders on identifying and refining requirements of the proprietary system technology supporting the platform.
Develop sales tools and collateral.
Brief and train sales and service teams.
Perform product demos to customers as needed in conjunction with Sales and RM teams.
Participate in key client meetings and provide vendor oversight.
Serve as a leader within the product team providing escalation support, solution input, and mentorship to other team members.
Participate on Agile Scrum teams in the capacity of Product Owner and contribute in other areas as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or mathematics or related degree preferred.
Minimum five years of experience in product, sales, marketing, client service or operations related roles.
Knowledge of mutual funds, exchange traded funds, trade execution, investment models, and other industry related terms.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Experience in retirement or financial services highly preferred.
Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential opportunities and risks.
Ability to work across all levels within the organization.
Ability to thrive in and adapt to environments with rapidly evolving circumstances.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to problem solve and analyze business intelligence data and provide recommendations.
