NewEdge Capital Group is looking for a highly skilled service-minded Sr. Billing Specialist with a positive attitude who enjoys problem-solving and meeting the needs of our advisor base and their clients. The Sr. Billing Specialist will be responsible for leading and supporting the supervisor with advisory fee billing systems administration, processing, and documenting asset-based invoicing. This person should be a skilled multi-tasker with excellent time management, computer, and communication skills. This candidate needs to have excellent follow through and customer service skills. We are looking for someone to take ownership of their role within the company and someone who takes pride in their work. The Sr. Billing Specialist will report directly to the Billing Supervisor with indirect role up to the Managing Director of Operations.
Location: The position will ideally be in New Orleans, LA, but remote applicants will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Provide a high level of client service to our advisor teams by promptly responding to billing and compensation inquiries and issues
Compile and process all client rebates with various custodians across multiple databases in a timely manner
Support multiple internal teams with reconciling advisory fees and upload fees and rebates to multiple custodial platforms
Complete month end reporting needs for accounting team across multiple databases
Problem-solve complex billing and compensation scenarios across multiple databases
Recommends and implements billing structures/solutions in payment outcomes
Navigate Custodian and third party platforms and locate relevant reports, tools, and technology across multiple databases
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and yearly quality control checks and audits as needed across multiple databases
Complete monthly advisory Billing process across multiple databases as needed
Respond to internal and external inquires in a timely manner across multiple databases
Follow up on issues and inquiries until fully resolved across multiple databases
Work closely with Billing Specialist and Billing Supervisor across multiple databases
Circumstantially makes compensation recommendations, accommodations and/or decisions in client-based matters.
Support with creating and implementing process efficiencies across multiple databases
Support with creating training material and procedure documentation across multiple databases
Assist with special projects as needed
Other billing, compensation and finance duties as needed
Compile and process a high volume of accurate invoices calculated from a multitude of billing schedules
Including but not limited to: Asset Based, Flat Rate, Advance and Arrears, Various Frequencies and Cycles
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
Three to five years of accounting or advisory billing related experience
Experience within the financial services industry highly preferred, whether working in an advisory firm, RIA or within a multi-custodial environment
Familiarity or experience with Schwab and/or Fidelity
Experience with Orion Billing Audit & Billing Generator is required
Experience with AdvisorBOB and Salesforce is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics a plus
Series 7 is a plus
FBI background check required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including expertise in Excel
Ability to work under pressure and meet or exceed deadlines.
Ability to independently keep track of future tasks and ensure execution is timely
Ability to communicate professionally in writing or verbally with co-workers, advisors, and other business units as required.
Ability to remain flexible while working in a growing organization.
Ability to communicate and project a positive, professional attitude with co-workers, customers, and various business contacts in person and over the telephone.
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 base salary, based on experience, plus eligibility to participate in company’s bonus program.
