Job Summary:

The Sr. Project Manager, reporting to the Director of the Project Management Office (PMO), will plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet project objectives. The Sr. Project Manager will manage project tasks and oversee work from project concept to implementation, including project planning, monitoring and controlling scope, scheduling milestones, and managing and communicating issues and risks. Additionally, the Sr. Project Manager will direct project activities to the project team, and report progress and metrics to stakeholders and portfolio governing bodies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, monitor, and control medium to large scale, complex projects.
Lead and provide direction and guidance for a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management.
Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to project specifications and objectives.
Assign, manage, and oversee project tasks and work, and control project execution.
Work with the PMO, development team, information security, infrastructure, business units, internal and external customers, and vendors to effectively plan and execute the project.
Create detailed project plans, estimations, schedules, and milestones.
Identify, track, and report project issues and risks.
Prepare and manage project documents and artifacts according to standards and procedures outlined in the project life cycle methodology.
Communicate and report project progress, metrics, issues, and risks to stakeholders, portfolio governing bodies, and senior management.
Manage and control project performance baseline; scope, schedule, cost/budget.
Coordinate resource allocation and evaluate and monitor efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources.
Together with other PMO members, work to establish PMO standard processes and procedures.
Measure and monitor portfolio value performance metrics such as ROI, and assess, report, and escalate critical risks and issues to the portfolio governing body.
Facilitate meetings with the portfolio governing bodies pertaining to selection, prioritization, balancing, and termination of portfolio components to ensure alignment with strategic goals and organizational priorities.
Review the portfolio in order to recommend reallocation and reprioritization and optimize the portfolio to ensure ongoing alignment with evolving organizational goals, opportunities, and threats.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years serving as a Project Manager on mid-to-large, complex projects.
BS/BA degree in Engineering or Business Management.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Effective at mitigating issues and resolving conflict.
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently while preserving accuracy and attention to detail.
Energetic self-starter, with the ability to work independently.
