Job Summary:

As the VP of Software Development, you will provide strategic leadership in setting the technology vision, strategy, and roadmap for critical development teams. You will drive technical excellence by overseeing the design, development, and operations of scalable and fault-tolerant systems. This individual will be technically proficient with the utmost professional and personal integrity; ability to engage, assess risk, prioritize work, identify issues, and solve problems.

Strategic Leadership: Drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our software development team, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and long-term goals.
Tactical Leadership: Oversee the design, development, performance and maintenance of scalable and reliable software solutions. Recognize problems or situations that are new and find solutions using a systematic, multi-step approach considering business impact, budget constraints and business goals.
Cultural Leadership: Lead, demonstrate and foster a culture of deep collaboration and inclusiveness within the team and with our business partners. This will be accomplished through:

Recruiting, mentoring, and retaining, top talent who will drive our business objectives
Delivering exceptional products – “form” matters as much as “function”.
Being ambitious in pushing the boundaries and expectations for the position.

Taking Initiative to figure things out and guide the team to do the same

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, customer service, and operation departments to integrate software solutions and address unforeseen challenges. Present and explain solution design decisions and justifications in walkthrough sessions with stakeholders and IT team members.
Operational Excellence: Manage the software development lifecycle, optimize team procedures, and ensure exceptional product quality and security.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

10+ years of experience in software development with at least 4+ years in a senior leadership role with strategic thinking and business acumen.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated experience as a Director or VP of Software Engineering or Development position
