Job Summary:

The NewEdge Wealth Strategist plays a key role in the over-all success and business development of the business. This individual will serve as our primary wealth strategy expert and resource for all NewEdge Wealth teams ultra-high net worth prospects and client relationships.

 

Responsiblities and Duties:

General:

Proactively addressing clients’ needs and anticipating potential issues.
Implement the wealth strategy process by developing, consulting, and implementing customized strategies to address the complex financial issues multi-generational families, business owners, corporate executives, private equity professionals, and other individuals face.
Enable confident decision making based on quantitative analyses through the use of eMoney and other planning software.
Provide consultative and advisory services to prospects and existing clients in the advanced areas of Wealth Strategy.
Deepen designated client relationships by remaining fully engaged, proactively reaching out, and preparing for course correction as needed.
Stay up to date on tax law and economic changes, bringing best thinking and creative strategies to clients.

 

New Business Development:

Participate in new business development meetings for prospective clients, generating referrals through your processional network and partnering with colleagues to expand current client relationships to support firm growth.

 

Firm-Building:

Significantly contribute to wealth strategy idea generation and best practices.
Work with the broader team to create deliverables, create whitepapers, and participate in client webinars.
Educate other team members on key planning techniques, tax law updates, and other planning initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.
At least one of the following preferred: CFP, JD, MST, LLM or CPA.
8+ years of industry experience in advising ultra-high net worth individuals in financial services, law, or accounting. Experience leading client relationships and working with professional outside advisors.
Deep understanding of Wealth Strategy including estate and wealth transfer planning, liquidity planning, philanthropy, business succession planning, risk and tax mitigation, next generation education and family meeting facilitation.
Ability to present technically complex matters in plain English.
Deep knowledge of Wealth Strategy software and tools (eMoney, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
High emotional intelligence, detail oriented, proactive, and passionate about understanding and helping families reach their goals.
Experience taking entrepreneurs and business owners through pre-sale planning, addressing family dynamics, equalization, liquidity, tax, philanthropic, and wealth transfer goals preferred.
Experience working with corporate executives and planning with equity compensation preferred.
Ability to lead family meetings using a consultative approach, addressing a wide range of advance planning topics while understanding family dynamics.
Ability to read clients trusts, wills and other estate plan documents, outline and interpret documents, create flow charts, spot any issues or concerns and confirm estate plan aligns with clients’ aspirations, and streamline discussion process with clients’ attorney if necessary.
Must be willing to travel as this role will be a centralize resource for the entire NewEdge Wealth footprint.
